Toshiba's exclusive design keeps all of the high-performance power while reducing acoustic noise to almost a tenth of the level of conventional high-field systems.

How the Revolutionary Pianissimo Works
With Toshiba's unique Pianissimo, the space surrounding the gradient magnetic coil is a vacuum, which does not transmit sound. The gradient coil and vacuum vessel are mounted directly on the floor, seperate from the magnet structure, further redusing noise. This seperate support system provides independent suspension for the vibrating gradient coil. Special insulators further dampen mechanical energy (which reduces acoustic noise) from the sealed gradient vacuum vessel.
